Our Family Arrives in Bethany Beach!

Ken and I woke up to our 5:30 AM alarm and we started getting ready to leave for Bethany Beach.  Almost everything was loaded except for the cooler food. We were on our way to the beach by 6:20 and what a beautiful morning for a drive.   We stopped at a WaWa for a croissant sandwich and some hot chocolate and continued on our way.  By the time we reached Rehobeth Beach Lanie and the girls were right behind us.  That was amazing!  Bob has to work and will only arrive here Tuesday evening!

All of us stopped at Atlantic Liquors and then were at Bethany Lakes by 10.  We were able to check in at the Community Center before the 2:00 check-in for the Condo.  That was great for we could change and spend time swimming at the beautiful pool while waiting to get into the Condo.  Jamie's family took a bit longer to get here because of an accident and very heavy traffic.

They arrived at 11:30 and we all had fun playing in the pool, except Dane, who didn't even have his suit with him today.  Ken and I left around 12:15 to see when the condo would be available (not until 2), so we stopped and picked up 2 large pizzas at Grotto's and took them back to the pool so we all could enjoy them for lunch.  What delicious pizza!  More playing in the pool and then Ken and I went back to the Rental Agency to get the keys.  When we got to the condo, the kids were already there and had unloaded their cars.  It looked like we were ready to have a huge garage sale.  I don't know how Lanie was able to get so much "stuff" in her van.

Looks like a good garage sale!

It took a little while to get everything unloaded, unpacked, and in its place.  Also, there were lots of beds that needed to be made - 6 in all!  The girls did a great job playing together and then watched a movie.  Jamie and Dane went to the  grocery store for a few extra things and then we all decided we eat in tonight.  The girls had sandwiches and the adults had salads, except for Lanie and Dane.  They picked up some seafood right down the road but we all ate outside on our deck.

The girls love to play the Game of Life on the I-Pad!

By 9 all the little gals were in bed.  The adults sat around the Dining Room table having great discussions about "life".  What a special 1st day of our family vacation!  By 11 we all headed to bed to prepare for the early "wake up" of the little ladies.  It is bound to happen!!!
