Our Last Full Family Vacation Day for 2015!

Wow, this week certainly flew by quickly!  It was the best family vacation ever! The little gals are loving the beach, both the surf and the sand, and they can all play together so nicely without a lot of supervision.  Also, they are well behaved when we all got out to dinner.  Amazing what a few years will do in the lives of little ones.

It had stormed during the night and was overcast but very humid when the house was "up and running" around 6:30.  Unfortunately, Sam was up several times during the night crying with earache.  Lanie had called the Dr. back home and had gotten some prescription eardrops for her, so we are hoping that she gets some relief soon.  It may require a Dr. visit when she gets back home.

Dane, Jamie, and Bria had gone for donuts at the Fractured Prune again this morning and they were just as good as earlier this week.  We debated what we wanted to do today, but decided we would just relax and give the sunshine a chance to appear.

While the girls were playing in the loft, Lanie, Jamie, Ken and I played some games of Haus with the parents usually being victorious!  Jamie and Dane decided to take Cali and Bria to the pool around 10, but because of Samantha's ear infection, it was not an option for Lanie's family.  Samantha and Katelyn enjoyed riding their bikes and scooters.

By 10:30 the sun was shining and it was warm, so we all got ready and by 11:30 we were on our way to Bethany Beach to have lunch and walk the boards.  The little ones wanted to decide on their "souvenir" to buy and take home for this year's family vacation.  Everyone was excited to eat at 5 Guys for their delicious hamburgs, but Ken and I decided to have Grotto Pizza.  We met after eating to shop for a short time, and then Jamie's family went on the beach for about an hour with Ken going along to observe!  Lanie's family planned to play miniature golf, but the girls were tired and they headed back to the Condo. I spent the hour just browsing through the boardwalk shoppes.  We were all back to the condo by 2:00.

Cali and Bria thought the water felt cold!

They surely love the water!!

After showers, it was time to do more packing to get ready for tomorrow's departure.  We had done a lot of it earlier this morning, but wanted to do as much as possible so we would be ready to leave at a good time tormorrow.  Our family played another game of haus with the girls winning (wow), and by 4:45 we drove to the new Bethany Boathouse for dinner.  All the seating is in open air spaces and they have a nice playground area for the girls.  The little ones even had their own table - such big shots!!!!!  The food was very good as well as the lemon crushes!

This eatery at Bethany Beach is new this year and is owned
by the Cottage Cafe.  Very good food and atmosphere!

Ken and I really enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich!

The girls felt so big having their own table beside us!

A nice play area for the girls!

Might be a Titanic pose!

From there we drove into Bethany Beach to have our final walk on the beach and view of the ocean for this family vacation.  Lanie's girls also got to fly their kites.  I took the 4 gals into the water's edge and enjoyed getting our feet wet! Papa was thrilled to get a family photo on the beach as well as one of each of the individual families and Grandma, and him with Bria, Cali, Samantha, and Katelyn.  Ice cream was a necessity too!

The mommies/aunts were "kite flying helpers"!

Katelyn needed some help from Aunt Jamie!

Bria and Cali enjoyed watching their cousins flying kites!

Grandma and Cali!

Bria and her daddy have a special bond!

I am so happy that all our granddaughters love the beach.

Our last chance to have our feet in the water during our
2015 Family Vacation!

We have had a wonderful time but not happy to see it end!

Ken and I just love these 4 special ladies!

We are so proud of our daughters......

.......and their families!

Back to the Condo by 8:15 where the girls played for a short time and then off to bed.  They were exhausted from such a busy, fun-filled week with very little down time and getting up so early every morning!

The adults had such a relaxing evening playing 2 games of team Skip-Bo and reflecting on the week.  Again, Ken and I feel so blessed to have such wonderful daughters, son-in-laws, and amazing granddaughters.  To be able to share a whole week has been incredible.  Wouldn't want to miss this special time for the world!
