Thursday I played pickleball for 2 hours and it was one of those days - some great games and some that looked like I had never played the game! So much for consistency! But, I did have a good time and that is what matters!
Ken spent most of the morning and early afternoon on the computer working on our financial "stuff"! He had to go to the office to fax 31 pages of info and it proved to be somewhat of a "nightmare", but he did get the job accomplished! Noela and I took a 2 hour shopping spree but came back with hardly anything for all our time spent at Michaels, JoAnn Fabrics and Wal-Mart. The 4 of us did play a long game of shuffleboard later afternoon with the men winning. Unfortunately, it wasn't even close!
After grilling dinner the 4 of us played Uno and the women won - YES!
I did have a long chat with mom today. Dad is having some pain but all his vitals are excellent. They did take him to see Dr. Rommel, his urologist, and he feels he may be getting another fistula and there is really not much that can be done. So they will treat the symptoms for the next week and see what happens.
Friday was another sunny day with temperatures in the low 80's. It was also a special day - Samantha's 8th birthday. Oh yes, it was the Presidential Inauguration too, but I really don't have much to say about that. I would rather think of January 20th as Sam's birthday!
After making some bran muffins we listened to last Sunday's sermon at LCBC and then composed an e-mail to our small group from Church back home. As I mentioned before, the 5 couples from our group are in this area and we will get together 1X per week for 6 weeks to discuss the book we are reading, The Purpose Driven Life! So, we sent an e-mail to all of them setting a date for the 1st meeting. That date suited the whole group, so we are excited to all get together for breakfast and then take time to start the study of the book.
I had a nice long chat with Cindy and we are in agreement with what they are doing for Dad. So nice to have such a special relationship with my sister. We are supportive of each other and seem to see things in the same way. Dah, we are sisters!!!
After lunch, the 4 of us drove separately to Manesota Beach. Ken wanted to stay to watch the sunset and Ernie and Noela wanted to leave earlier. It was a gorgeous day on the beach and Ken had a great time finding lots of shark's teeth despite the fact that he had his shoes on and was never in the water. What an eye for spotting the teeth!
The sunset was beautiful and by the time we left (6:15) we were one of the few people still on the beach. Hope you enjoy the pictures of the sunset. We surely enjoyed viewing it!
After showering and eating salads, Ernie and Noela came over to play Skip-Bo, a game that us women never seem to win. Tonight was no exceptional. They beat us handily!
Ken and I had a long talk with Jamie today and so appreciate being able to share with her and be so supportive of each other.
AWESOME pictures, Ken! Love them....Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to see you guys!!!☺
