Yesterday, Sunday, we went to Church and got to see Jamie's family, her in-laws, and our small group friends. After the service, Ken and I said our good-byes to Jamie, Dane, Bria and Cali and then the 8 of us from our small life group went to breakfast. We had such a fun time.
We only got home around 1:15 after stopping for groceries. We spent a lot of the afternoon loading Waldo for our Florida trip. I did watch a little football and then we took a walk. After making dinner, we left at 6:15 to go to our small life group where we discussed the morning sermon in depth. It was a very good discussion time. Then we had dessert, socialized, and again said our good-byes. We were home by 9:45 and went right to bed.
Today, Monday, I left at 6:15 to go to Curves. As per Deb's request, I took my finished jewelry with me and sold earrings to my special friends. Back home by 7:45 and Ken was cooking breakfast for us. Then it was another day of making many trips back and forth loading Waldo. Amazing how much "stuff" you need when heading to Florida for about 7 weeks. We also picked up our bikes at Polly's house and put them on the back of the CRV - they are ready to go to Florida too! After lunch, we left for Lancaster to stop at 2 banks, AC Moore and Michaels. Then our full-time camping friends, Nancy Savage, met us at the parking lot at the cardiologist to show us pictures and tell us about her 1st grandchild (a girl) that was born yesterday. She is so excited. The appointment with the cardiologist went well. It is still all rather unreal to comprehend, but he was reassuring about the discomfort that Ken is still feeling occasionally and only wants to see him in a year. That was good news!
When we got back to Lititz, we decided to go for a walk around town and through the park. It was a cool, breezy day, but sunny and beautiful. Ken's brother Paul stopped by for about 1 1/2 hours to visit and be updated on Ken's health. Good to see him. After dinner, Ken made a final trip to Waldo with a few odds and ends to load. Well, the refrigerator in the apartment is now empty and unplugged, all the dishes in the cupboards, and we are ready to go. We hope to be on our way by 6 AM tomorrow morning.
