So Much Fun With Chuck and Melissa!

We were up around 7:15.  Planned to get up and walk, but it was raining early this morning.  So we had a slow paced morning and it actually felt good!  The rain stopped around 7:30 and the rest of the day was mostly sunny with lower temperatures (81) and less humidity.  That was good too!  I talked with Jamie and feel her pain and frustration!  Bria is not wanting to go to school and cries in the mornings to stay home.  This is a child who has always loved school and does so well.  Jamie thinks there is a young girl on the bus who is bullying her.  Jamie plans to talk to the guidance counselor to get her take on the situation.

The 4 of us sat outside chatting and Chuck started clapping when the sandhill cranes got close to our motorhomes.  They immediately started walking towards us and got so close!  I guess Chuck is the Crane Whisperer!!

The large sandhill cranes in flight!

Chuck, the sandhill crane whisperer!

They are a stately bird!

We decided to go to Michael's Craft Store to get a couple picture frames for Chuck and Melissa's Motorhome.  I didn't mind looking in the jewelry department.  We also went to the nearby Dick's Sporting Goods to look for director type chairs for Chuck and Melissa.  I don't know when the 4 of us have laughed so hard and long as when Chuck sat down in a macrame type "half circle" chair.  His butt touched the floor and his knees were up above his chin - definitely not made for this guy!!!  Then he tested a fold up wagon and the wheels kept hitting the back of his heel as he was discribing to us the "flaws" of this wagon.  Then with a very serious voice he said "This really hurts my heel"!  Another howling time for all of us.  Melissa took a video of him sitting in the chair so if you want a good laugh check out her blog at letsjustgosomewhere.blogspot.com.  You will have a great belly laugh!!!!! (or maybe you had to be there to totally appreciate the moment!)  Ken took one picture so that is all I have to show you!

From there we went to Crispers for lunch, another one of our favorite Florida eateries with delicious salads and flatbreads.  We weren't disappointed.  Then a quick stop at Walgreens where we got some great prices on M&M's and Nips.  We are such thrifty shoppers even though we probably didn't really need the candy!!!!  Ken and Chuck went back to the Pharmacy where they were hoping to get a 2 for 1 deal with a flu shot and a procto exam at the same time.  That didn't work out very well!!

Back to the CG around 3:15 and who did we see in a Motorhome right across from us but George and Jean, camper friends that the 4 of us met at the RV-Dreams Rally 3 years ago in Hershey.  Ken and I had been together with them about 3 weeks ago when they were camping near our apartment and we had dinner with them and took them on a tour of Lititz.  They knew we were at this CG but had no idea on which site - just so happened they got the site across from us!  Jean was actually driving around in their car to try to find us and here we were right across from them.  The 6 of us spent the next 2 hours just chillin and chattin outside.

Later Chuck, Melissa, Ken and I went to play 2 games of shuffleboard.  Unfortunately the men won both,  but the 2nd one went to the bitter end.  We had a quick, light dinner, and then we played 2 games of Skip-Bo before calling it a day around 11. We each won a game!  We decided to only meet at 8:30 to walk.  We got to bed too late to get up too early!

A fierce gam of competitive shuffleboard!
