Tuesday and Wednesday - Beach and Biking!

Tuesday I went to Pickleball and Ken caught up on some of his reading.   He was so nice and came to the courts to take some pictures of me in action!!!

I hope I can hit this ball when it gets here!

How did I get with only men?????

We visited Ernie and Noela and the 4 of us decided to do "our own thing" today. Yesterday the red tide was bad on the beach and Ernie was experiencing a sore throat and possible start of cold, so the beach was "out" for them today!

We packed our lunches and as we were heading towards the car, Bill, a fellow camper from PA stopped by.  He and his wife Donna had just returned from spending 2 weeks back in PA because Donna's brother was having some serious health issues and they wanted to be with him.  Fortunately he is now on the road to recovery.

We drove to Manasota Beach and immediately starting coughing - more red tide issues.  We decided to stay at the beach anyway.  Soon after we were there, Bill and Donna joined us.  We had a nice time chatting with them.  They are such nice people!  Ken had a very successful day shark tooth hunting.

We were back to Wilbur by 6:00 after stopping for more groceries - Wow!  We grilled and showered and Ernic and Noela were here till 10.  We played Sequence Dice and Racko and the men won both - ridicules!

Ken and I were extremely busy on Wednesday morning.  He spent lots of time outside washing all the windows and screens and parts of Wilbur.  Then he did the windows inside!  It was a cooking and baking day for me.  I mixed cornbread muffins and baked them in my convection oven.  I must admit that I am getting a lot more comfortable using it.  I also made white chicken chili in my large crockpot!  That created lots of dishes!  We only finished our "chores" around noon!

Rick and Joyce arrived around 12:45 (they are friends from church back home) and we ate our lunches outside before leaving for the Cape Haze Bike Trail about 3 miles from the CG.  We rode the length of the trail to the small village of Placida, where we enjoyed the unique gift shop and walking on the fishing pier.

Starting our ride on the Cape Haze Bike Trail.  What a level,
straight trail!

We had seen this eagle nest several weeks ago!!  Boy, have
the eaglets ever grown!

Our special friends, Rick and Joyce!

Quite a colorful background!
Walking out to the fishing pier!

Rather stately Blue Heron!

Then it was time to peddle back to our cars, a total of 17 miles.  It was a perfect day for a bike ride and fun to share with special friends.

Ken got some great shots of the eagles on the way back!

Rather unique looking eaglet!  Amazing how the "grown ups"
can be so majestic!

The 4 of us drove back to Waldo for dinner - white chicken chili, salad, and cornbread muffins. We played 2 games of Pinochle with each of us winning a game.  It was a fun day and Ken and I were very tired when we went to bed around 10.
