An Unforgetable Day for Ken!

I was going to play pickleball this morning, but it was only in the upper 40's and I was still trying to get over playing so poorly on Monday.  So, I decided to spend some additional time reading and then making cookies for our study group on Friday.  Ken and I spent some time together discussing the 1st part of The Purpose Drive Life Book and taking some notes.

At 11:15 the 4 of us left the CG to have lunch at Farlows on the Water, one of our favorite eating places when in Florida.  We have been here 1 month and have not eaten there, so it was time!  It is only about 20 minutes from the CG and the food is delicious and you sit outside along water.  As per usual, it was an amazing lunch!

From there we drove to Nokomis Beach.  The beaches in this area are still having some trouble with Red Tide and we did some coughing as soon as we walked onto the beach.  All in all, it wasn't too bad!  Now to explain why it was such a special day for Ken - he found the largest shark's tooth he has ever found by far and then a second one that was amazing too!  When he returned from his "hunt" he was so excited to show it to us!  What a find!  I found quite a few small ones, but nothing even close to his treasure!!!

The shark tooth at the bottom is the
size we normally find, so this was
huge!!!!  The other one has a part
missing, but it is still a treasure!

On our way back to the CG we stopped at Detweilers, a local produce market that offers very reasonably priced fruits and veggies, meats, deli items, and fresh baked goods.  They also have delicious ice cream and you get two scoops for $1.29 - Crazy!

Ken and I had a fun time skyping with Bria and Cali when we returned to the CG.  We got a great tour of their bedrooms and heard all about school, swim team, etc.  It was so good to hear their voices and see their smiling faces.

We played a game of Racko with Ernie and Noela and the men were victorious again.
