Cool Morning But Beautiful, Warm, Sunny Day!

Ken was up early to do some reading and after a light breakfast we both headed to the pickleball courts by 8:20.  Ken's foot was feeling fine and he was excited to get back on the courts.  Also, he wanted to get to meet all the French Canadians that I play with and get to know them, even though communication can be a bit difficult.  He hadn't played since last July, so my guess is he was a little apprehensive.

Fortunately when we arrived there was only 1 other couple there, Michelle that was my partner in the tournament and her husband.  So the four of us played together and it gave Ken a great opportunity to get back into the game.  He did well, but did struggle a bit with his serve.  More players showed up and we both got to play about 5 games before leaving the courts around 9:45.  Ken played every game and he played so well.  After the 1st game his serve was totally on target.  We both had a really good time and were pleased with our playing!

Ernie, Noela, Ken and I left at 11:15 to have lunch at our favorite place, Farlows on the Water. But before leaving Ken took some pictures of the alligator and birds on the canal behind our campsite.

Ken thinks he could probably wrestle this one!  Right!!!!

At Farlow's, Noela and I had the chicken quesadillas and they were probably the best I have ever had.  Ken had a salad with blackened grouper, one of his favorite treats here in Florida.

After leaving the restaurant we drove to Blind Pass, a nice beach, where we found lots of sharks teeth and numerous pieces of sea glass.  We had a wonderful time except for the red tide.  As soon as we got out of the car we began coughing.  It is amazing how the red tide affects you.  It was tolerable, but definitely a nuisance.

Beautiful sky!

Not very crowded!

Ken had walked up the beach and was amazed at the beach erosion that was happening near many of the homes.

The surf is getting way tooo close to these homes!

They are trying to protect the with sandbags but not sure
how long that will work!

We returned to the CG by 5:15 and after showers, Ken took a short nap.  I worked on the blog.  After dinner, we went to Ernie and Noela's 5th wheel and we played Uno.  The women won - YES!!!
