Friday and Saturday

Ken and I were up by 5:30 on Friday and he dropped me off at Bright's in Ephrata to have breakfast with my Curvette friends!  We had a fun time chatting and reflecting on our special trip to the Grand Canyon of PA!  What a great way to great lasting memories!

Ken had picked up coffee for Jamie and Dane and spent from 7 to 8 visiting with them, Bria, and Cali.  He came back to get me at 8 and after stopping for a Pumpkin Spice Latte for me and coffee for him at WaWa, we went to get Wilbur and bring him home for our camping adventure starting Monday.

As soon as we got home, we left for Costco to get some items for our trip and to get one of Ken's prescriptions.  We got back around 11:30, ate a light lunch, and then Ken put the tow bar back on Wilbur (Ken's back is so much better today - hallelujah!) and then Rick and Joyce arrived at 1:00.

Rick wanted to check on the by-pass switch he had put in the CRV in the spring because it appeared it may not be working properly.  Ken had just gotten a new battery for the CRV after talking to our mechanic and he felt that might be the problem.  Fortunately the by-pass switch is during its job, so hopefully the battery was the issue.  Then Rick asked Ken if there were any other issues they should "address" and Ken mentioned that our one slide on Wilbur was making a bad noise.  So the 2 of them spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out what was wrong and discovered that one of the rollers under the slide only worked when the slide was just starting to go out or when it was almost in.  While the men were doing "their thing", Joyce and I spent time chatting on our balcony.

Before we started playing cards, we made a call to Lazydays and were able to get a service appointment for the Monday after Thanksgiving to have the slide repaired.  We were so thankful they could get us in!  That should work out very well with our Florida schedule.

The 4 of us played Skip-Bo which the men won rather easily and quickly but the women were victorious in Haus.  We had a lot of fun and really appreciated Rick's willingness to help us with Wilbur and the CRV.  We really miss them when they are in Florida.  We will see them on Sunday after church, but then not again until we head to Florida for about 3 1/2 weeks starting right after Thanksgiving.

They left around 5:15 and we finished our dinner while watching the 6:30 news.  I did some crafting in the evening and Ken read.  We were in bed around 9:30.

Today, Saturday, was another gorgeous day with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the low 80's (and this is supposed to be Fall!).  Ken and I got up early and were on our way to Katelyn's soccer game by 7:30.  it was about a 45 minute drive.  It was so much fun to watch her play.  Her daddy, Bob, is the assistant coach for her team and the girls did very well.  Katelyn  loves to run and she is a "scrappy" little player.  If she chooses to continue playing I think she has a lot of potential!

Katelyn was all smiles during her soccer
game!

Katelyn really does a good job and likes that her
Daddy is the assistant coach for her team!

We went back to their house to visit, play some Uno, and bought lunch at a local barbeque pork "place".  We brought 2 lbs. of pork and made sandwiches at their house.  Ken and I were back home around 1:45.

I spent a lot of the afternoon doing 2 loads of wash and loading some items in Wilbur.  Ken put the bikes on the CRV's bike rack and then loaded many things in Wilbur.  I watched the final quarter of the Penn State Game - yeah Nittany Lions - and then worked on this blog.  Ken showered and took a nap because he is feeling like he may be getting a cold.  He has a scratchy throat and is rather hoarse!  Hopefully it won't amount to anything!!!!

Ken's sister, Priscilla and her husband, Dwane, arrived here at 5:00 and we walked to Tomato Pie for dinner.  It was a gorgeous, warm evening and we ate on their patio.  We got back to the apartment at 8 and played a game of Haus which the men won.  It was so nice to spend the evening with them to "catch up" on each others lives.  We have so much history of traveling together and owning a condo in partnership in Ocean City, MD for many years.  We miss spending time with them.

What a special day!
