A Trip to Cape May!

Happy 1st Day of Summer!

What a relaxing morning at the CG.  We only got up around 8:15, did some reading, got ready, and had a "cereal breakfast" outside!  It was already 70 degrees and very sunny!

Doloris and Fred came over around 10:00 and we had a great time just sitting outside chatting and then helping Doloris download Pandora to her tablet!  She was so excited and is now ready to buy a Bose speaker.  We got her "hooked"!

They left around 12:15 and we all got ready to drive to Cape May.  We drove separately and left the CG around 12:30.  We parked about 3 blocks from the beach area of Cape May, unloaded our bikes, and rode them to Sunset Beach. We had lunch on the deck at The Grille at Sunset Beach and enjoyed our chicken cheese steaks and delicious onion rings with the special Sunset Sauce.

A nice place to sit and enjoy a tasty lunch!

We are thankful to share this time with Fred and Doloris!

After leaving there we spent time on the beach looking for treasures.  Each of us found a couple pieces of sea glass and some unique stones but it was near 90 degrees and rather humid.  We were HOT!

Every year we come to Sunset Beach less of the concrete
ship is visible.

A great photo of  Sunset Beach and Cape May/Lewes Ferry!

Lots of "meat" inside these conch shells!

What can I say?  Ken just liked this photo!

So, we headed back to the grille for some soft serve Turkey Hill Ice Cream - thanks for serving Lancaster County ice cream!

The ice cream tasted so good on this hot day!

We got back on our bikes and headed towards Cape May.  Fred and Doloris went back to the CG but Ken and I decided to ride to Cape May Beach. Ken wanted to get a photo of the Cape May Lighthouse! Met a couple from Manhattan there and had a very nice chat with them.

The Cape May Lighthouse as seen from the beach.
As you can see, the photo was taken from far away!

On the way back to the CG we stopped for gas and groceries arriving at Waldo around 6:20.  Showers felt incredible!  Then Ken and I took a walk around the CG stopping to visit Eddie and Lori Paparo, part of our church small group.  We visited for over an hour at their motorhome and had a nice time of sharing.

Back to Waldo by 8:45 and Fred and Doloris joined us to play a game of Haus, which unfortunately the women lost.  There was lots of laughter throughout the game.  We called it a night at 10:30 and I worked on this post and downloading photos.

We are looking forward to going to Fortescue to look for more sea glass again tomorrow.  We have certainly been having gorgeous weather.

Doloris got a call today that her brother, Junior, is in the Ephrata Hospital with some heart issues.  Their family would appreciate your prayers!
