Saturday - Cloudy, Damp Day!

Ken was up by 6:00 and enjoyed doing his devotions in the sunroom overlooking the stream.  What a peaceful setting!  I showered and was getting ready by 7:45.  Bria and Cali appeared at7:30 and I made them requested pancakes for breakfast.  Ken and I cleaned up and the 4 of us left at 9:15 to go to Refreshing Mountain so the girls could zipline and do the obstacle course.  It was a belated birthday git we had given to them.  We did stop at Turkey Hill so Grandma could get a hot drink!

Refreshing Mountain is an absolutely amazing place!  Most of the cabins, buildings, playground, pool, etc. look relatively new, woodsy, and so well maintained.

The playground and the new playhouse!

A very nice pool area!

The ziplines and particularly the obstacle course are amazing.  We had scheduled the girls for a 10 AM zipline "run" on the beginning course.  At their ages, an adult had to sign up to go also and with my back it wasn't a possibility and Ken really didn't have any interest.  We also felt the smaller one might be a good idea.  This place is so well organized and the workers so pleasant.  Bria and Cali were a bit apprehensive at 1st, but they loved the zipline!  They look forward to returning sometime to do the larger ones.

Getting ready for the ziplines!

Cali is ready to go!

Bria too!

Some final instructions!

Bria is off and dropping!

Bria reached the other side!

Here comes Cali!

Cali will go 1st on the 2nd zipline!

Here she goes!

She is liking here "ride"!

Now it is Bria's turn!

Bria did a 360!

Zipline fun is done!

At 11, they were scheduled to do the obstacle course which looked and was amazing.  They were harnessed for the course and there were so many activities that required balance and focus and the girls did so well.  If you do the advanced zipline, you actually stop at the highest part of the obstacle course, go around that level, and then get back on the zipline.  Bria and Cali would love to try that the next time.

Final instructions for the obstacle course!

Let the fun begin!

These hoops would be tough for Ken and I to get through!

Balance is needed!

These things swing and sway!

This obstacle course has amazing challenges!

These look like polo sticks!

Really???  I am going to go across these????

What a fun time!

We left Refreshing Mountain at noon and were thrilled that it hadn't rained while we were there.  The sun didn't shine, it was damp, and got windy and a bit cooler the longer we were there, but it turned out to be a great day for the activities.

We stopped at Isaac's for lunch and then Dairy Queen for the new Reese's Blizzard.  Ken rested while the Bria and I watched a movie and Cali played with some of her neighbor friends.  While Ken was at his Step Study from 2:30 to 5 I downloaded today's photos  and did some work on the blog.  The girls and I played Uno and then when Ken returned we all played 2 games of Skip-Bo.

We decided to go to Tropical Smoothie for dinner and had quesadillas and smoothies.  Back to their house and the girls showered and we all got ready for an evening of watching a movie, the newer Annie, and then the Pitt/Penn State Football game.

What a great day for everyone!!
