Sunday - On Our Way to Mystic Seaport, CT

Our alarm went off at 6 and believe it or not, Ken was still in bed!  We got ready and decided we would eat after we had been on the road for about 2 hours.  It was raining when we got up, but fortunately, it stopped while we were hooking up the CRV for towing.

We were on our way by 7:15 and it was a cloudy day the entire trip, but not raining - hallelujah!  It really was a great trip with mostly major interstates and all went extremely well.  We arrived at the CG by 1:30 only stopping 1 time at a rest stop to turn on the generator so we could have coffee and chai with our cereal.

When we got to Seaport RV Resort and CG, which is a Sun Resort, we realized most of their sites did not have sewer hook-ups.  We are only here till Wednesday, so it really shouldn't be a problem, but we will have to careful with our dishwashing and showers.  We set-up rather quickly because we are here such a short time and only got out the necessity items.  We finally got to eat lunch at 2:00 and both of us were extremely hungry.

We were a bit tired, but decided to head to the Chamber of Commerce in Mystic to get an idea of what we wanted to see while in the area.  The gal there was extremely helpful and recommended we park in the neighboring lot and just walk to Old Mystic.  It was probably a 15 minute walk, so when we got there we stopped in an ice cream/coffee shop and I had a delicious pumpkin spice chai latte!  It was delicious.

So many boats in this area!

What a beautiful place to eat, but we wouldn't know because
we came back to Wilbur for dinner!

This is a jute knot shop and everything is made on the
premises!  Interesting!

Ken thought this was a very unique light!

One of the many beautiful homes along the water!  The
added room looked gorgeous!

Then we watched the opening of the Mystic River Highway Bridge, which is an amazing "building feat" built in 1922.  We "hung around" until it opened at 4:40.  The part they raise is 660 tons!

Those are 2 huge blocks of concrete!

An old Steamboat!

Nobody is going to drive past these barricades!

We were back to the CG by 5:30 and made salads for tonight and tomorrow's dinner and then warmed up the shredded chicken and baked beans from Friday night.  After dishes, I worked on the blog and Ken did his devotions, sent e-mails, and checked out Facebook.  I had a nice chat with Doloris and they left Sea Pines Saturday morning instead of Sunday because of a forecast of rain both days.  Much better to leave when everything is dry, for it makes loading so much "cleaner"!   We agreed that a great time was had by all when we camped together last Sunday thru Thursday!  What fun!  I watched some football while crocheting, before going to bed around 10.  I am a bigger football fan than Ken!

I did talk to Lanie on our way here and she asked if I knew what happened to Bria!  Jamie and Dane had left on Wednesday to go with friends to Florida till Sunday, so Bria and Cali stayed with Dane's parents.  Early yesterday, Bria got a glazed look and then went limp and fainted.  I am sure it was quite a scare for Sue.  So, she called Jamie to let her know what had happened, but Bria now was feeling fine.  After Jamie talked to Bria's Dr., he suggested she be taken to the Emergency Room.  Long story short, after blood tests and an EKG, everything was normal and 3 hours later they sent her home with no restrictions.  They did suggest an appointment with her Dr. sometime this week, but she has been fine ever since the fainting ordeal.

So, after talking to Lanie, I did chat with Jamie (she was home by noon) and she confirmed that Bria appears to be just fine.  She will take her to the Dr. just to double check that all is well!
