Fortunately it had stopped raining around 7:30, so we were able to hook-up the CRV and dump tanks without getting wet. We left the CG around 8:30 and I am happy to report and it was an easy, uneventful drive - the best kind!!!! We stopped 2X for gas, because when we pulled into Pilot, they did not have enough room for comfortably getting gas when towing a car. So, a 2nd stop was required and that one worked out well. I had great phone conversations with both Lanie and Jamie during the trip! All is going well back home!
We arrived at the CG around 12:30 and set-up went smoothly on a very nice campsite! We only ate lunch at 2 and although we were a bit tired, we drove into town to walk part of the Marginal Way, a paved mile+ walk along the rugged coastline that is positively beautiful. It is what I imagine the coastline of Maine would look like. 4 years ago we were here with Sam and Kathy Frankhouser and had such a wonderful time. The 4 of us had walked the trail to the small fishing village where Sam and Kathy treated us to lunch to celebrate the beginning of Ken's retirement. Oh the memories!
Just getting on the Marginal Way. The landscaping and all the flowers are so beautiful!
What a house overlooking the water!
So many people sitting outside of their motel enjoying a view of the water!
Folks enjoying being in the water. Probably too cold for this gal!
These next several photos are what I imagined the coastline of Maine would look like - breathtaking!
Love this photo that Ken took!
What do you think this rock looks like???? I see a whale or fish!
We were back to Wilbur by 5 and both of us rested before making salads for dinner. After doing dishes, I had nice phone conversations with Joyce and my mother. Everyone is doing well!
Ken did some reading and responding to messages while I downloaded photos,
worked on this blog, and did some reading.
Tomorrow around 12:30 we are meeting with friends, Burt and Pat, whom we met while working in the Food Bank in Florida last winter and live about 2 miles from our CG. We look forward to spending time with them while here in Ogunquit for the next week.
By 10:15 we headed to bed to read, turning off the lights at 10:30. Guess what?? It was raining lightly when we went to bed - not again!!!!!
