An Extremely Windy, but Warm Day at Pine Island!

As soon as I got up this morning, I called my mother to sign Happy Birthday!  She is 84 today - amazing!  She is so fortunate to be so healthy both physically and mentally!  Ken called his sister to wish her a Happy Birthday too!  We won't tell, but Priscilla is 68.

While is was finishing getting ready, Ken walked across the way to meet our camping neighbors.  They have been full-timing for 2 years and are extremely friendly and fun people.  I joined them and we were probably talking for about 45 minutes.  That is one of the best things about camping - you meet so many wonderful and friendly people!

We cooked breakfast around 10 and ate outside - so sunny and mild!  Because it was so windy,15 to 25 mph, it was not a day for riding bike.  So we drove Willie to do some errands - post office, produce stand, hardware store, library, gas station, and grocery store.  We also drove to the pier at Bokeelia, the other end of the island.   We were back to Willie in time for a late lunch.

Ken's 1st bird picture on Pine Island - the blue heron!

The fishing pier at Bokeelia.  They see manatees and
dolphins here many days!

Such a small post office!

We love all the palm tree nurseries (plantations)
on Pine Island!

Ken had gotten some Rustoleum and sandpaper to do some "maintenance" work on our 5th wheel hitch in the bed of Diesel.  It had some rust issues!  Then we got a passing shower and the rest of the day was mostly cloudy!  But, it was warm - mid 80's.  We took a walk around the park, meeting up with Ken, and gentleman who has worked here for the last 7 years.  Such a nice guy!

Ken grilled salmon and steak.  We spent the evening working on our computers, making jewelry, and watching TV.  Another tough day!
