Gorgeous sunrise as we were leaving the Panhandle! |
We drove 360 miles and arrived at our next destination, Sumter Oaks CG in Bushnell FL around 3:00, earlier than we had anticipated. We had lost the hour we had gained about 2 hours into our drive when we returned to Eastern Standard Time. Duane and Louise came into the office when we arrived. So good to see them again. We were told about the ice cream social at the clubhouse that began at 4. We were given a level, pull through site so we could keep Diesel and Willie hooked to make leaving in the morning much simpler. We met Duane and Louise at the social at 4 and enjoyed a large bowl of delicious ice cream for $1.00. What a deal! Most people left when the were finished eating, but the 4 of us remained there just chatting until 6:30. We had such a nice time together. We thought about going out for dinner together, but we were full from the ice cream (even though Louise refrained!) and we had a late lunch. So we called it an evening, promising to say good-bye before we left in the morning!

These sandhill cranes greeted us at the CG! |
We got up early, got ready, ate, and then went to Duane and Louise's rig at 7:45 to say good-bye. They were getting on their motorcycle and heading to Leesburg to play pickleball. Their cycle and motorcycling "gear" are something to see and they only started riding about 4 years ago. They are loving it! We look forward to seeing them down the road.
They love riding this special cycle! |

We left the CG at 8:45 and were on our way to Pine Island, about 180 miles south - finally a shorter driving day. It was an uneventful trip (the best kind) and we were "home" at the CG at Pine Island by 1:15. Saw several couples we met here in our previous times camping here. Looking forward to warm days and nights. Supposed to be in the 80's everyday and in the 60's at night. I think we can handle that! We are doing a craft show on Saturday, so we will have a great time!
