Great Day on Pine Island!

Ken did all the "prepping" for breakfast while I got showered and ready for the day.  I convinced him to read outside till I was finished so I could cook the breakfast outside.  His prep was unbelievable - what a guy!  Sandy, who works here at the CG, stopped by to say hello.  She is the activities director and we met Sandy and Ed here several years ago.  They even had us and two other couples for supper one night.  What great people!

White plates are fresh fruit and veggies and
turkey bacon on the cutting board.  We had
delicious omelettes!

Look closely!  This is a little frog inside the lid of
our grill!  What a jumper!

After breakfast, we played Upwords (Ken won again!) and then we decided to take a walk towards St. James City!  It was very sunny and warm - in the 80's.  We left at 11:15 and walked about 4 miles, getting back to Willie around 1:30.  We had stopped and sat on the dock at Woody's, a local restaurant to enjoy our cereal bars.  Quite a nice setting.  Also stopped to take a photo of a small water area where there were so many "Florida" birds - wood storks, egrets, and babies.  Saw an eagle too!  So nice to be able to walk this time of year in shorts and a sleeveless top and actually be hot!!!

So many beautiful water birds!

Love the butterflies too!

More painted telephone poles!

Not a bad place to sit, rest, and have a snack!

We spotted an Eagle on top of a large antenna tower
near the CG!

We called Polly to sing Happy Birthday, ate lunch, and then Ken talked with Kevin.  We spent about 2 hours at the pool, taking alittle time to play 2 games of shuffleboard.  Ken won again!  Not sure what is going on!!!!!

Back to Willie to play a game of Pinochle outside.  I actually won, but we stopped after 1 game because the noseeums were really biting.

Cooked supper indoors.  Looking forward to watching the Country Music Awards.  Love the energy of Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood and their chemistry for hosting!
