A Sea Glass Hunting Adventure!

Ken and I left home at 7:30 and headed to Elk Neck State Park in Maryland about a 1 1/2 hour drive.  It was a gorgeous sunny, mild day with the high temperature getting into the low 70's.  I had a nice long chat with Ernie and Noela while we were driving.  So good to talk to them.  We stopped to have breakfast at a delightful little restaurant, The Nottingham Inn around 8:30.

We arrived at the Park around 10:30 and got ready to take a hike to the beach area where have been successful in the past finding sea glass.  I did wear my SAS for the hike and it worked well.

It was a beautiful hike through
the woods.

The mountain laurel is just starting to bloom.  It should be
gorgeous in the next week or so!

A nice attraction along the way!

We got to the beach after about 30 minutes of walking and by then it was the perfect temperature for combing the beach.  We were there from 11:30 to 3 and only 2 other folks came to the area, but just for a short time.

Not a very large area.  This is looking from the center of
the beach.

A photo from the center of the beach into the opposite direction!

So much driftwood, which we forgot to pick up for some of
my sea glass pictures!  We will have to go back!

Ken and I spent almost the entire time just going up and down the small beach area looking for sea glass.  It was positively amazing how the water kept washing up more and more glass.  We would walk just a few steps and then turn around and find more in the same area.  It was crazy.  We found more sea glass in that amount of time than we would find in many years in Florida. Obviously we had such a wonderful adventure!

This is just Ken's bag of sea glass!

He found this many pieces while I was putting on my shoes!

This is the sea glass we found minus the ones we threw away
that were not "weathered" enough!  Pretty amazing!

We were back home by 5 and while Ken showered, I made us salads for dinner. He left at 6:30 for Celebrate Recovery and I watched The Voice while "trying" to make some greeting cards.  For some reason, the "creative juices" just weren't flowing!!  I did have a chat with Doloris and she wanted to hear about today's adventure!

Ken home at 9 and we were in bed by 10 after a fun filled day!
