Wednesday - Happy 4th of July!

Well, we awoke to another very hot, humid day with temperatures in the low 90's!  Ken left at 7:30 when the gates opened in the area where the fireworks will be this evening to put our chairs in a good location for watching them.  I did my stretches and exercises while he was gone.

After breakfast, I did 2 loads of wash and we started packing for our trip to Canada, leaving tomorrow morning.  It will be a different adventure because this is a road trip where we will be staying with friends instead of sleeping in Wilbur.  We don't do that very often!  We made salads for dinner and then cleaned out the refrigerator and did lots of dishes!

I did my devotions while Ken worked on the computer getting directions for our drive, making appointments for when we return, etc.  I finished another card holder while having a heating pad on my back.  It seems rather sore from PT yesterday.

At 3:30 we walked to the park to hear the Lititz Community Band and watch the young dancers from a studio here in Lititz.  Both did a great job and were very entertaining.

By 5:30 the weather looked very threatening, so we walked back to the apartment to watch the news and decide what our plans would be for the remainder of the day.  There was a group at 6:30 we really wanted to hear,
the Legends From 52nd Street who was the band for Billy Joel.  They had a phenomenal sax player, drummer, and a singer/piano player who sounded just like Billy Joel.  Unfortunately it really rained during their performance and we were sitting on metal bleachers getting wet.  We did have an umbrella, but it only did so much!  At the end of their "gig", we decided to get our chairs out of the fireworks viewing area and call it a night.  We were wet and starting to get a bit chilled.

The piano player really looked like a younger version of Billy
Joel and sounded very much like him!

We were back to the apartment by 8:45, showered, and I worked on this blog.  By coming home early, we will get a good night's sleep for our long driving day tomorrow.  Most things are already in the CRV, but as per usual, there are some last minute items that will need to be packed in the morning.

Looking forward to seeing Barry, Deb, Ernie and Noela.  It will be a fun trip!
