Tuesday - Another Sunny, Hot Day! Great for the Beach!

Lanie, Samantha, and Katelyn were up earlier than the rest of the group.  Ken was reading by 6:15 and I started my morning routine around 7.  Everyone was in the kitchen by 8:15 and Dane was just returning from a 3 mile run!

After breakfast, Ken and Lanie took Samantha, Katelyn, and Cali to the playground in the development while Dane, Jamie, Bria and I played 3 games of pickleball.  It was hot and humid, but we had a great time.  All of them will be great pickleball players when they start playing more frequently.

When the "pickleball players" returned, the other "group" was playing a game of Uno.  PawPaw had gotten them all to play when they were promised squirts of whipped cream after they finished - great motivation.

We packed lunches and bags for the beach and left the condo by 11:15.  To give Lanie a break, PawPaw and Jamie were in charge of Katelyn when in the water.  Lanie and I enjoyed sitting on the beach chatting when the rest were in the water.

We ate lunch on the beach and after more time of chatting, all of us went in the water.  It was calmer today and everyone did very well.  Every time a larger wave came all the girls yelled "Grandma", but I got smart and dove under many of them.  No tumbling for Grandma today!

Ken and I sat in our chairs while all of them walked up to the concession stand for an ice cream treat.  Before they got back, I looked up from reading my book and realized most of the people were packing up to leave.  I took one look at the sky, woke PawPaw, and we immediately started packing up.  Fortunately the rest of the family got back at that time and we made a beeline for our cars, getting there just before the heavy rain started.  The life guards actually cleared the beach because of nearby lightning.

We were back to the condo by 2:30 after a fun time at the beach.  Showers were very much appreciated.  I took time to download photos and work on this blog.  Ken and I played cards with Lanie and Jamie, something we often did as a family when they were at home!  The girls watched "The Greatest Showman" that Jamie and Dane had rented.

All of the adults worked together making dinner - tacos, burritos, and taco bowls.  We had sauteed lots of onions and peppers, grilled telapia, and cooked chicken.  It was a delicious meal that was enjoyed by all.

What a crew!  Ken helped to but he stopped to play photographer!

I love these gals!

Looking mighty tasty!

Ken and I offered to do clean-up while all of them walked to a nearby community to check out the homes.  We were just finishing when they returned and allowed the girls to watch some TV before heading to bed around 9.

The 5 adults played another game of Up the River before "retiring" around 10:30.  It was another full family vacation day
