I called Doloris at home and left a message - "You better polish and wax your snow shovel, you are going to need it. We are getting our "Florida Snow Shovel" ready for the hunting of sharks teeth on the beach".
We left the CG at 11:30 with our beach gear and our lunches and drove to Manasota Beach about 20 minutes away. It was in the low 70's today with some wind and partial sunshine. Sweatshirts felt good for a lot of the time we were there. After walking the beach and looking for sharks teeth and shells, we were back to our chairs for lunch. It was about 2 and that was when Ernie and Noela joined us. Ken and Ernie took a long walk while Noela and I went treasure hunting on the beach.
This is beautiful Manasota Beach! There were more shells on the beach today than I have ever seen there. |
Ernie with an osprey! |
A snowy egret. You know them by their yellow feet! |
Getting close to sunset, but it was cloudy! |
How tranquil and serene! |
They left the beach around 4:30 and Ken and I headed back to our CG at 5. By then it was getting very cool. I talked to Doloris on the way back. So good to hear her voice! Ken had a brief nap while I played on the I-Pad. We had delicious leftovers for dinner, cleaned up, and planned a relaxing evening of watching TV, reading, and making jewelry. I had fun making some earrings for Noela to match the necklaces her daughter had made for her.
They are expecting some heavy rain starting tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully we can enjoy some fun things in the morning! The weekend doesn't look to great weather wise. It will be in the low 60's, very windy and not overly sunny. Oh well, at least it isn't snowing!
