Sunday - Church and Relaxation!

Ken did some reading and by 8:45 we were on our way to Edgewater Church where we met Eddie and Lori from our small group back home and our new friends from the Food Bank and the Church in general.  Another wonderful sermon and music that had us really thinking about how we spend our lives.  Most of it was on how we treat others and that it is not about us but our service and genuine empathy for people that are hurting and in need.  Lots of food for thought!

Eddie, Lori, Ken and I went to Denny's for breakfast and had a good time sharing and just chatting.  When we left there, Ken and I stopped at Michael's to get a few more frames for my sea glass pictures getting back to the CG around 12:30.  We stopped at Ernie and Noela's since we hadn't seen them since Friday evening and discussed some of our plans for the coming week.  The 4 of us are going to Myakka State Park on Tuesday to do some bike riding, hiking, and enjoy a picnic lunch.

Ken rested when we returned to Wilbur and I played on my tablet before setting up to make some sea glass pictures.  I finished 3 of them while Ken made salads for dinner and grilled salmon and chicken.  We ate dinner outside - it was in the upper 70's.

At 5, Ken and I went to the South Jetty at Venice to watch the pelicans (they are crazy divers!) and to hopefully watch the sunset.

This brave man was fishing from his kayak and the wakes
from the boats really made him "rock"!

It is so much fun to watch the pelicans "dive bomb"!

There must be some fish down here somewhere!!!

Get ready....

....here we go to get those fish!!!

That fish was a good one!

Just waiting patiently for his next catch!

The pelicans are getting their positions for a night of sleep!

We saw some dolphins too -

We did have a little bit of sunshine while there, but we left around 7:15 when it was evident that there wouldn't actually be a beautiful sunset - way too many clouds.

The sun only appeared for a short time!

We had a fun time regardless!

Lots of fishermen on the South Jetty!

Beautiful, but no actual sunset to watch!

On our return to the CG, we stopped at McDonald's for a hot fudge sundae (so good!) getting back at 8:30.  While enjoying some hot tea, Ken went through the pictures he had taken and I worked on the blog and downloaded the photos.  It was a fantastic and relaxing day!
