Barry and Deb, Friends from Canada, Arrived at Harbor Lakes For a Visit!

Ken and I left the CG at 7:45 to go to Detweiler's Farm Market near Venice for some fruits and veggies.  Usually it is crazy busy, but we beat the crowds!  We also stopped at Wal-Mart for a few needed groceries.  We invited Barry and Deb to have dinner with us at Wilbur tonight, so we needed some fruits and veggies.

During the drive, Jamie called and we had a very nice chat.  On Friday they will be getting another dog, Sampson, a rescue Golden Retriever, that is about 4 years old.  Jamie is very hopeful that Sampson will be the perfect dog for their family, but it has happened sooner than she had expected so she is trying to adjust!

We were back to the CG by 9:30 and did some clean-up inside and out.  I left at 10:20 to get my haircut here in the park.  Ken did some reading while I was gone and then we both got busy getting some food prepped for tonight's dinner.

Then we had some time to catch up on e-mails and for me to download pictures and work on the blog!  We decided to walk to the office to see what site Barry and Deb had since we figured they had already arrived.  On our way, we passed Bill and Donna on their bikes and we stopped and chatted for about an hour. Then we noticed that Barry and Deb were walking towards us.  So good to see them!

The 4 of us walked to Wilbur and spent about 1 1/2 hours "catching up on life"! We really appreciate that they stopped at Harbor Lakes for 3 nights so we could spend some time together!

We are so excited to spend the next several days with Barry
and Deb.

We left around 3:30 and drove to Englewood to walk the beach and drive along that picturesque road, stopping at Manasota Beach.

Englewood Beach!

When we got back to the CG Ken and I dropped them off at their campsite and we went to Wilbur to get dinner ready for the 4 of us!  They joined us at 7 for dinner - Ken had grilled and I made salads and sauteed fresh veggies.  It was a beautiful evening to eat outside.

After cleaning up, we played Rummikubb and Skip-Bo with the women winning both games!  It was 10:15 when we called it a day, looking forward to spending the day together tomorrow!
