Monday - Cloudy but Milder Day!

Ken was up before me to do some reading and studying.  When I got up we discussed playing Pickleball, but my legs were not the best during the night and I seem to be fighting a bit of a cold, so we decided against playing!

Every morning Ernie goes for about a 1 1/2 hour walk, so Ken left to try to catch up with him on part of his morning routine.  I stayed back and did some reading, got ready, and then did some work on the blog.

After breakfast I went outside to do some spray painting for several projects I would like to work on in the near future and Donna (from PA) and her friend, Rite, stopped by to say hi!  We met Bill and Donna several years ago when camping on Pine Island and really enjoy seeing them.  They are here in Harbor Lakes for 3 months, so we will have opportunities to get together!  We packed some snacks and water and at 11:30 we picked up Ernie and Noela and headed to Manasota Beach.

The beach was not very crowded probably because it was in the upper 60's and there was no sunshine.  Actually, it was rather pleasant and Ken and I had a good time with reasonable results when shark tooth hunting.  It is so addictive!  We all left the beach around 3:30.

We showered and I worked on the blog and some e-mails while Ken rested, after all, he gets up almost every morning between 5 and 5:30 (not this gal!).  At 6 we drove to Edgewater Church to have dinner with the Celebrate Recovery Group.  It is the 1st time they are offering a meal before the meeting and we wanted to be supportive.  The meal was prepared by the chef and his culinary students at a local school.  We stayed for about 1/2 of the worship service before leaving to drive to Venice to watch the College Championship Football Game at Rick and Joyce's home.

What a fun time with Rick and Joyce and the game was "wild".  Ken and I were disappointed that Georgia lost, but it was such a great game!  We left there at 12:30 and headed back to the CG.  It was raining rather hard and it made the visibility while driving very tough.  We were glad when we got back.  Right to bed, because it was way past this couple's bedtime!  We appreciated Rick and Joyce's hospitality!
