Saturday - Mostly Cloudy, Cooler Day!

I had another rather restless night but was up in time to watch the Morning News - seems like the "same old, same old"!  It was cloudy and 62 degrees and a bit windy.  It is only supposed to get about 65 today, so probably not a day to watch football outdoors!

The 4 of us had decided last evening that it is time to go to Venice to enjoy one of those delicious scones from the Upper Crust Bakery!  I worked on the blog for a short time before we all left the CG at 9!  We parked in the downtown area and walked to the Upper Crust and had probably our best scone ever from the bakery.  Ken and I shared a blueberry one and it was filled with so much fruit and still warm - amazing!

I love the downtown area of Venice.  This is the main
street through the shopping area!

This mural was just painted in 2017 and honors the 4
doctors who were founders of the hospital in Venice!

For all you dog lovers!!!!

Beautiful bird "statues" in one of the shop windows!

The best place to buy a delicious scone!

We walked through the Venice Farmer's Market that is set-up every Saturday on one of the streets.  Ken bought some local orange blossom honey and I had an opportunity to talk to Lynne, a gal I have taken several jewelry classes from.  She really makes some very unusual wire jewelry.

Pictures of the downtown Venice Farmer's Market!

This was one of our favorite stands!  We only bought 1 cookie
for the 4 of us to share.  We were still "full" from our scones!

Okay, some people really find huge shark's teeth!

After leaving Venice, we stopped at Detweiler's Farm Market for some local fruit and veggies.  As usual, it was so busy!

We were back to the CG by 12:45, unloaded our produce, and then the 4 of us plus Jim and Joyce walked to to the clubhouse for the welcome back party hosted by the CG.  There were over 400 people there and each of us were given a ticket for their prize drawings.  They probably gave away about 25 things - mugs, garden flags, solar lights, bag chairs, etc.  Noela won a garden flag with a metal holder and I won a bag chair - wow!  Then the CG fed all of us - beef barbeque, cole slaw, baked beans, chips, cupcakes, and soda.  The food was delicious and we all had a fun time.

Inside the clubhouse at the campground!

The line for the food formed inside and then out the door!

Yes, the cupcake was yummy!  This gal
will not be having anything else to eat  today!

Back to Wilbur by 3:00 and we spent the rest of the afternoon and evening watching football - yeah Eagles!  Ken did some reading and I made a couple sea glass pictures.  It is now 10:00 and it looks like the Patriots are on their way to a win - again!!!!  I did download photos and work on the blog before going to bed!  It has been a good day!
